The company was founded in 1926 by Remi De Pecker, reparation and maintenance of machines and steam driven ships.
In 1936 a first breaktrough came on machine building by the invention and construction of an egg sorting machine by Remi De Pecker. With this the first steps were taken in the direction of developping and fabricating machinery.
In 1949 Paul De Pecker joined the company to expand the company activities for developping and fabricating machines for the local market.
In 1952 the company changed its name to Remi De Pecker & Zonen and was located in the inner harbour of Ghent with divers activities such as shipyard activities for reparation of ships, construction and installation of machinery, repair and maintenance of machinery.
In 1979, after 50 years of activities De Pecker NV was well known and had grown to a company with 200 employees and a surface of 12800 m².
In 2002 De Pecker Gent NV was founded on a new location in the Ghent harbour area. The ship repair and maintenance activities were stopped at that moment. The activities now are focussed on repair and maintenance of machines and the developping and fabrication of special machinery and installations. At that point a 24/7 service was started.
Anno 2011 the staffing comprises approx. 60 employees. New adapted workshops are integrated and the customer base covers all sectors of the industry. An internal engineering team supports the customers with their knowledge and capabilities for machines, installations and technical services.
